251 Dekalb
Originally built in 1967 as The Marquis, 251 Dekalb is Varenhorst’s redesign of over 750,000 square feet of interior space. This sweeping 26 acre, beautifully landscaped, residential community includes 650 apartment units in five buildings, with two new gyms, an indoor children’s play area, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a yoga room, a game room, tennis, bocce, basketball courts, a dog park, and a community garden. Varenhorst has installed new finishes throughout the buildings both in common areas and in individual units, along with new lighting and elevators as well as new hardwood floors, new kitchens, bathrooms, and appliances. The buildings have been fitted with new windows, a new exterior facade scheme that updates and refreshes the branding of the development, and new HVAC systems throughout with VRF (variable refrigerant flow), allowing for individual apartment temperature control.
This residential community and it’s new, tranquil sense of place, have already contributed positively to the area after many years of decline before renovation.
